Javier Arturo Marín Gómez was born in San José, Costa Rica 1 February 1977 into a family of teachers.
At the age of 8, Marín started his art studies at The house of the Artists, where was selected as a mention of honor for their final works, for the next 3 years he spent summer at The house of the Artist where develop his ability for watercolor and gouache.
Before completing high school emphasized on arts and crafts, he enters Plastic art faculty at University of art and science where he started the Publicity design studies placing his artworks on faculty's collective art shows on drawing, illustration and painting. Before those times, he started his painter professional carreer by exhibit his work on individual art show at local cafes, banks, and government facilities, also his work could be seen on many galleries and collective art shows and auctions.
As a contemporary visual artist, his paintings were exhibited in Costa Rica, USA and Belgium and have been bought by private collectors and galleries.
Also, Marín's work was exhibited in the 4th International Healing Art Project by Bridging heaven international healing art project CA, USA and at the ETNIA-LA 2010 at Europe capital.
His artworks were placed on many private collections on the USA, Australia and Spain. He's also known because of his Live painting shows at festivals, art foundations and local Universities art programs. On 2010 he was prized by the ProArtes prize of the Culture Ministry of Arts of Costa Rica for his work on Games of Hands storyboard with the cast of Skené Foundation for arts and culture. As a contemporary painter, Marín uses his own distinctive style to express his healing art conception by the creation of artworks founded on constructive expressionism in strong and highly colored schemes.
